My first encounter with an angel…
Meditation is a daily practice and it does require practice, but it has become my favorite part of the day. I remember when I first started learning how to meditate, I didn’t enjoy it much. It seemed rather burdensome as I prepared my ritual of setting up candles, arranging my crystals, finding my headset, and so forth and so on. By the time I sat down to meditate, it was time to get the kids up and ready for school. I was so frustrated that one day I screamed in my head, “There’s got to be an easier way to do this!”
So I asked my angels to help me. I cried out, “I need your help; this is supposed to be easy!” Then I got still, closed my eyes, and waited. Shortly thereafter, I saw in my mind’s eye a beautiful angel approaching me. She had long, wavy blonde hair and her face was beautifully illuminated with love and light. Her billowy peachy-pink gown flowed in the wind like ocean waves as she got nearer. Her smile was warm and compassionate, and I knew that she had come to help. A feeling of peace overwhelmed me, and I sat like an eager child ready to learn.
She placed my hands on my head and had me say these words: “I bless my head so I can think like God thinks.” Then she placed her hands over her eyes and I did the same, and she said, “I bless my eyes so I can see like God sees.” Then I instinctively placed my hands over my throat and said, “I bless my voice so I can speak like God speaks.” I moved to my heart and said, “I bless my heart so I can love like God loves.”
As she nodded with approval, I realized that she was showing me how to bless each chakra while asking God to help me think, see, speak, love, and feel like God does. In case you don’t know, our chakras are the seven spiritual energy centers of the body. I then moved to my solar plexus chakra and blessed my core knowing that the power of God rests within me. I blessed my sacral chakra as I affirmed that I am a co-creator with God and my root chakra knowing that all my financially and material needs are always being met, and that God is my source and supply. I felt so safe and protected and I was so overwhelmed with a sense of peace and happiness.
As she began to fade away, I called out, “Wait, I have a question.” I then asked her to tell me her name and she replied, “Gloria.” I said, “Gloria, why such a common name?” She replied, “When you think of me, think of all of God’s glory!” I was elated to hear something so simple yet profound that I knew I could remember. Then she turned and began to walk away, I hesitated but had to ask one more question so I cried out, “How do I know this is not just my imagination?” She replied, “Call your friend Roxanna,” then she disappeared.
I immediately dialed my friend and before even saying hello, I asked her, “Who’s Gloria?” She was silent and I said, “Are you okay?” I could hear a quiver in her voice then she replied, “Gloria is an angel that used to walk with me on the beach when I was a little girl growing up in Panama!” I was floored; I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I not only experienced an angelic intervention, but she validated it as well! Since then, meditation became an easy practice that I can do anywhere, anytime, and if I get distracted, all I have to do is the “blessing meditation” that Gloria taught me. Gloria is still with me today as she is one of my guardian angels.
